There are some days when I just want to run and hide from this world because it scares me so much. I feel afraid of everything out there and try to remind myself that y it is not a big scary world that is out to kill or demonise people and leave them to starve or die because of ill health.
And then there are days like today when I see such stupidities in the papers and I wonder, who is the one with a mental health condition?
And it’s not like their wholly ridiculous efficiency cuts that have left services fighting for money and closing many services is going far too far.
The fact is that there just isn’t enough money to go around and the sooner the MP’s stop trying to say that we can find it from being more efficient, of getting more people into work the better. The simple fact is that taxes need to be raised.
To be hones I think there are a great number of the population who would agree. Not only that I would put the rich not just the super rich in this tax increase with the sole aim of reducing the rich poor divide and provision of health care services particularly for mental health which is not been given parity of esteem as it was promised and is closing far more services than physical health.
For petes sake if the only ideas for raising money is to take it away from those who have so little, are ill equipped/ unfit to improve their situation then this government has gotten far too greedy for it’s own good. It simply cannot argue that benefit cheats, and ill people are lazy as a way to justify removing money or services (which is what health budget cuts amounts to) or implementing such schemes.
There will always be people are both but really it is ridiculous to suggest that they are the majority or even a significant number of the people out there. Likewise efficiency cuts can only go so far until services are cut and really they are being cut now so time to wise up.
Surely this is a no brainer! Tax the rich spend it on the poor and infirm. Happier people, healthier people, more in work, more efficient country.
And if the super rich only came here to buy a cheap holiday home that they spend only a few months a year in then we can do without the paltry amount they spend in our country and really you think they won’t come here, then you are mistaken they will find another way to make it work for them that’s what people do.

Really we’ll stop your benefits if you don’t comply with treatment!
Honestly I have no idea where they come up with this stuff and I applaud Sarah Wollaston, conservative MP for standing up and saying how absolutely unethical it is. And to be honest this is not exactly the first incidence where I have wondered have MP’s taken leave of their senses. The ‘food stamps instead of money on benefit to enforce healthy eating in people and help reduce obesity’ was another. And it’s not like their wholly ridiculous efficiency cuts that have left services fighting for money and closing many services is going far too far.

What you cry, raise taxes that will make everyone worse off and it’s really bad already.
Yes well that depends on how taxes are raised my personal favourite is to tax the rich and the super rich. This country has a hell of rich poor divide both in real terms and in salaries paid and i for one would stand for creating a new tax on the super rich or raising the one already existing and ring fencing the money for health services and benefit for the sick or job seekers.
