I was sent this by a friend
"Did you know the cambridgeshire mental health trust is making cuts of £14 million to its services over the next 3 years?
If this is likely to affect you please read the consultation document below, and respond either online or on paper by 16th January 2012."

And I really don’t understand how when the service is not meeting the requirements for mental health care due to underfunding how it can possibly be thought that this will improve things.
Over and over I hear that there are big problems with people not getting the care that they need. If it isn’t staff shortages then it’s money for refurbishment of old wards to bring them up to current standards. The whole service needs an overhaul and this will require more money not less. How on earth do they expect that a service that has waiting lists the size it does with staff shortages and problems with facilities is going to meet the needs of the patients with a smaller budget. It’s insane. At the very least keep the budget the same size.
And if this is your area please, please, make comment because the more people who tell them what’s needed, what and how much, the better off you will be and hopefully it will change things for the better.
